We replayed 212 headline events against wallet flows on Polymarket and Kalshi. The question was simple: did the big money move before the headline, or after?

In 71% of cases, profiled whale wallets opened or stacked positions before the public story broke. The median lead time was just under nine hours — long enough to matter, short enough that most humans never notice.

Not every headline is equal

Fed decisions, election night surprises, and sudden regulatory filings showed the strongest pre-move. Sports and entertainment markets were noisier — whales still traded, but the timing edge collapsed.
