Most wallets have a past. The interesting ones don't. Why fresh money with strong opinions is the sharpest insider tell we track — and how we keep it from crying wolf.
On a Tuesday in March, a wallet that did not exist on Friday put $48,000 on one side of a Fed decision market. It had made nine trades in its whole life, all in the same market, all in the same direction, all within 40 hours of resolution. The market moved 22 points its way.
We flag a few dozen wallets like this every week. Most of them are nothing. The ones that aren't are the reason Insydr exists.
Fresh money is loud money
People who know something have a hygiene problem: their main wallet has a history, and history is identity. So they do the obvious thing — spin up a clean address, fund it through an exchange or a mixer, and bet from there. The trade is hidden. The pattern is not. A brand-new wallet with no exploration phase, no small losses, no curiosity — just size, conviction and a deadline — looks nothing like a normal user's first week.
Across the last 90 days of confirmed insider-pattern signals, the age distribution isn't a curve. It's a cliff: the modal flagged wallet was funded less than three days before its first position.

Age alone isn't a signal
If we barked at every young wallet, you'd mute us in a day. New addresses are mostly innocent: airdrop farmers, privacy-conscious regulars, people who lost a seed phrase. So age is only the doorway. A wallet has to keep failing innocence checks before it fires anything:
- Sizing. First position in the top decile for the market, no warm-up trades.
- Focus. One market, or one tight cluster — insiders don't browse.
- Timing. Entry compressed against a resolution date or a known announcement window.
- Funding. Deliberate distance between the money's origin and its destination.
What the den does about it
Each check contributes to a z-score against the market's own baseline, because $48K is a whale in a sleepy state-politics market and a rounding error on a BTC threshold. Cross the line and a signal fires with the full evidence trail attached — the same fields you saw above, in the dashboard and over the API. Nothing is a black box; if we can't show you why, we don't ping you.
And the Tuesday wallet? The market resolved its way. The wallet emptied the next morning and hasn't moved since. We never learned who it was — that's not our job. Our job was making sure you saw it 38 hours before the headline.
